evolution of the book
I feel a bit conned by this book to be honest, it's called Darcy and Fitzwilliam, but although there is a character called Darcy, it's not Austen's Darcy. Nowhere near. Neither is his wife Austen's Elizabeth, she's a bit of an evil tempered, stroppy, petulant room wrecker/5().
The book wins points for originality in that someone finally cares about Colonel Fitzwilliam, but this book would have been better if Elizabeth and Darcy were kept out of it. I read a great deal of Pride and Prejudice fan fiction and I can go along with new imaginings/5. Another hilarious and thrilling book from Wasylowski.

The highlight of this book, and the entire serie, is the cleverly written banter, dry wit and snarky comments/5(73).
